The Opportunity

Play a vital role in upholding UniSC’s research excellence by supporting the Research Ethics and Integrity team. In this role, you’ll provide key administrative support while driving continuous improvement of systems and processes, helping ensure the University meets its legislative and ethical obligations.

You will

  • Manage and review high-volume human research ethics applications, amendments and reports.
  • Provide expert advice to the Human Research Ethics Chair on submissions to ensure compliance with the relevant national guidelines.
  • Deliver specialised advice to researchers on applying for human research ethics approval.
  • Contribute to the operations of the Human Research Ethics Committee.

About you

You are a highly organised and proactive professional with excellent written and verbal communication skills, enabling you to build effective relationships with a wide range of stakeholders. You work confidently both independently and as part of a team, using your initiative and sound judgement to navigate challenges and deliver practical, innovative solutions. With strong administrative capability, you bring high levels of digital literacy and attention to detail, ensuring accuracy, efficiency and high-quality outcomes in everything you do.

You will possess:

  • Demonstrated ability to interpret legislation, policies and guidelines related to the research regulatory environment in order to provide clear advice and feedback to stakeholders;
  • Demonstrated experience in efficiently managing high-volume workloads through time management, setting priorities and planning;
  • Demonstrated experience in dealing with enquiries and providing accurate advice and quality service to stakeholders;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills to facilitate professional interaction with a broad range of people;
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and productively as part of a team with minimal supervision;
  • Ability to apply initiative, exercise sound judgement and develop innovative solutions; and
  • Exceptional administrative skills including strong digital literacy and attention to detail.

Desirable

  • Experience working in research ethics.
  • Knowledge of Research Master.
