The Opportunity

At UniSC, we're committed to creating a safe, respectful and inclusive work and study environment where everyone can thrive. As part of this commitment, we're implementing our obligations under the National Higher Education Code to Prevent and Respond to Gender-based Violence. This role will lead the coordinated delivery of that work across multiple portfolios, functions and stakeholder groups.

Reporting to the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic), you'll operate with a high degree of autonomy while bringing together expertise from Student Services, People and Culture, Governance and Risk Management, Information Technology Services, Legal, Marketing and Communications, and academic areas. Your focus will be on coordinating implementation, managing risk and dependencies, continuing the establishment of governance and assurance arrangements, and supporting a structured transition of ongoing responsibilities into business-as-usual operations.

This is an ideal opportunity for an experienced program leader who enjoys navigating complexity, influencing across diverse stakeholder groups and delivering outcomes that create lasting organisational impact.

You will

  • lead the university’s implementation program, bringing together people, systems and processes to deliver UniSC’s obligations under the National Higher Education Code to Prevent and Respond to Gender-based Violence;
  • build alignment across diverse stakeholder groups, establishing clear governance, accountability, reporting and assurance arrangements that support sustainable outcomes;
  • drive delivery and manage complexity, overseeing implementation plans, risks, dependencies, evidence requirements and system readiness across multiple portfolios; and
  • embed long-term capability and ownership, supporting organisational change and the successful transition of processes, systems and responsibilities into business-as-usual operations.

About you

You're an accomplished project or program professional who thrives in complex environments and enjoys bringing people together to achieve shared outcomes. You can see the bigger picture while maintaining a strong focus on delivery, governance and accountability. You may have built your experience in higher education, government, health, community services, consulting or another large, regulated organisation. What matters most is your ability to coordinate complex work programs, engage stakeholders, navigate competing priorities and deliver sustainable outcomes. You'll bring excellent judgement, strong communication skills and a collaborative approach that enables you to influence without direct authority and build confidence across diverse stakeholder groups.

You will possess:

  • Postgraduate qualifications, progress towards postgraduate qualifications, or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and education/training.
  • Significant experience managing complex, multi-stakeholder projects or programs within a large organisation.
  • Demonstrated success coordinating cross-functional initiatives and building productive stakeholder relationships.
  • Experience establishing governance, compliance, reporting and assurance frameworks that support organisational and regulatory objectives.
  • Strong capability in project planning, risk management, dependency management and delivery oversight.
  • Experience working with data, reporting processes, systems implementation or process integration activities.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, including preparing reports, briefings and recommendations for senior stakeholders.
  • Experience supporting organisational change and embedding sustainable business-as-usual practices.

Desirable

  • Knowledge of gender-based violence prevention and response, trauma-informed approaches, or related policy and regulatory frameworks.
  • Experience delivering initiatives within higher education, government or another complex regulated environment.
