The Opportunity

Are you passionate about upholding academic excellence? As an Academic Integrity Lead, you'll undertake the investigation of suspected cases of student academic misconduct. You'll ensure strict compliance with university policies, maintain the integrity of our academic community, and conduct thorough analyses to gather solid evidence. You will

  • conduct investigations into reported or suspected cases of student academic misconduct, such as plagiarism, cheating, collusion, fraud or contract cheating as outlined in the student misconduct procedures;
  • collect and analyse evidence, including academic papers, assignments, and other relevant materials, to establish the veracity of alleged misconduct;
  • interview students, school staff members, and witnesses involved in academic misconduct cases to gather information and testimonies;
  • collaborate with school staff members, administrators, and student support services to review and resolve academic integrity concerns and develop appropriate interventions;
  • maintain accurate and confidential records of investigations, disciplinary actions, and outcomes related to student academic misconduct cases; and
  • provide support for administrative functions associated with the ICU, as required.

About you

You’ll possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills, enabling you to effectively interview students, school staff, and witnesses, while providing guidance, support, and delivering educational initiatives. Your collaborative nature allows you to work seamlessly with stakeholders, including faculty, administrators, and student support services, contributing to the development of effective interventions and strategies. With a high level of attention to detail, you can maintain accurate and confidential records, manage caseloads, and prioritise tasks efficiently.

You will possess:

  • demonstrated experience conducting investigations into suspected cases of student academic misconduct, with knowledge of relevant policies, procedures, and legal frameworks;
  • strong analytical and critical thinking skills, with the ability to collect and evaluate evidence, identify patterns and anomalies, and draw well-reasoned conclusions;
  • knowledge of emerging trends, technologies, and research related to academic integrity practices, and a commitment to ongoing learning and professional development; and
  • demonstrated commitment to promoting ethical conduct, fairness, and integrity within the academic community, and upholding the highest ethical standards in all aspects of work.
