You will

  • liaise with academic staff to plan and deliver practical sessions, ensuring laboratory classes are effectively resourced and run safely and efficiently;
  • assist in method development and the introduction of new laboratory techniques; and
  • maintain compliance with work health and safety, risk management, and waste disposal standards.

About you

You are a technically skilled and organised professional who enjoys working in a practical, hands-on environment. You bring a proactive approach to problem-solving and take pride in contributing to high-quality teaching experiences for students. Known for your reliability and attention to detail, you communicate effectively with both academic and professional colleagues and demonstrate a strong commitment to safe and compliant laboratory practices.

You will possess:

  • A relevant degree, or a combination of relevant education, training, and experience;
  • Experience providing technical support in a scientific or pathology-based teaching environment;
  • Practical knowledge of laboratory operations, including preparation of reagents and solutions, maintenance of laboratory equipment, and application of standard laboratory procedures;
  • Understanding of laboratory WHS requirements, chemical and biological waste management, and risk assessment processes;
  • Strong organisational and time management skills with the ability to manage competing demands;
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills that foster collaboration and a positive team culture; and
