The Opportunity

Join UniSC as a Communications and Project Officer and make a meaningful impact in the Academic Support Unit (ASU). Reporting to the Director, Academic Support Unit, you’ll collaborate with colleagues across the university to drive engaging internal communications and deliver key projects. In this dynamic role, you’ll craft and edit content, coordinate activities that align with ASU’s priorities, and manage projects that enhance business processes, governance, and compliance. This is your chance to contribute to innovative initiatives, foster staff engagement, and support strategic goals within a progressive and supportive university environment.

You will

  • design and deliver staff communications and projects that inspire engagement and collaboration across UniSC;
  • shape messaging that supports strategic priorities and promotes values-driven behaviours across the university;
  • create clear and detailed project plans, documentation, and reports to ensure excellence at every stage; and
  • deliver exceptional experiences for staff and stakeholders, aligned with UniSC’s commitment to innovation and inclusivity.

About you

You're a natural communicator and organiser who thrives on creating clarity and connection. With your talent for crafting compelling content and managing projects, you’ll help amplify the work of the Academic Support Unit and bring its strategic vision to life. You excel at balancing the big picture with the finer details—whether you're coordinating impactful communication strategies, managing projects with precision, or streamlining processes for better outcomes. Your proactive approach to collaboration and continuous improvement ensures you’re always enhancing the experience for stakeholders and delivering quality results. If you're ready to make a difference by supporting our mission and values, you’re exactly who we’re looking for.

You will possess:

  • Demonstrated expertise in communication, contemporary project management, and administration within large, complex organisations.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to write clearly and precisely.
  • Exceptional organisational and time management skills, including the ability to prioritise, multitask, and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft 365, with experience in creating and managing effective SharePoint sites.
  • Familiarity with the Australian higher education sector is a bonus but not essential.
