  • Casual appointment with availability to work Monday to Friday (no nights or weekends).  

The Opportunity

The University of the Sunshine Coast invites applications for a casual Chef/Cook to join our dynamic catering team. We are seeking a dedicated individual with a passion for food and for creating delicious and diverse menus in a vibrant, fast-paced environment. Flexibility and work life balance is assured for the right person.

You will

  • prepare and deliver high-quality meals, ensuring consistency in taste and presentation;
  • maintain compliance with food safety and hygiene standards at all times;
  • collaborate with the kitchen team to manage workflow during peak service periods;
  • contribute to menu development by offering creative and innovative ideas; and
  • support the Head Chef and maintain a clean and organised kitchen.

You will possess:

  • must be able to work unsupervised and give direction to other staff;
  • must be able to cater for dietary requirements;
  • possess relevant experience in a high-volume kitchen;
  • demonstrate an understanding of food preparation techniques and safety protocols;
  • exhibit excellent teamwork and communication skills;
  • be adaptable, reliable, and capable of thriving under pressure; and
  • show a commitment to delivering exceptional customer service.
